Snack Parade: Friendly’s
Join Miss Kathy every Tuesday in Center Court from 10:30am to 11:30am for a creative adventure in storytelling, songs and play-a-long fun!
Miss Kathy features a wide variety of story themes and special event days with picture book dramatizations, sing-a-long music, finger play, exercise games, and an occasional puppet or two popping out of the portable stage, the Tale Spin Story Bin. Each week children have the opportunity to spin their own tales during show-and-tell before choosing a rhythm instrument for the Snack Parade to a surprise mall vendor for their weekly treat.
The event gives children a positive, early experience with books, words, art and literature and ignites a love of literacy that can last a lifetime. Youngsters are introduced to social skills, listening skills, and interactive skills and regular attendees have come to adopt Tale Spin Stories as their special class time each week.

Music on the Mall - CCC Jazz Band
Cumberland Mall invites the entire community to enjoy the delightful sounds of some of the area’s finest musicians at Music on the Mall. A variety of ensembles from the Cumberland County College (CCC) Music Department will perform live in the mall’s Center Court the first and third Friday of the month throughout the year.
Music on the Mall features CCC’s Jazz Band, Wind Symphony and Chorus, as well as The Brass Consort Quintet, with a different group performing at each concert.
The Jazz Band is in its twenty-fifth performance season with founding Director Joe Akinskas. The ensemble, which has grown from five musicians to a full 20 piece instrumentation over the past 6 years, is a credited course at CCC and is being offered as a community service to adult musicians from the community. The Jazz Band performs approximately twelve times a year, on campus and along the Jersey shore, and has hosted the South Jersey Community Band Festival over the past five years.
The Music on the Mall program is a collaboration of the Cumberland County College Music Department and Cumberland Mall to provide the community with an ongoing series of light repertoire concerts showcasing local musical talent. The mall is pleased to present an exciting evening of wonderful entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.
